A gentleman scammer, he has been emailing and calling me since July 28, 2012. Asked me out on a romantic date via the website How About We. When time came for the date he said he suddenly had been called to Dubai to work as an architect on expanding the metro between there and Abu Dhabi, that he'd be back in two weeks and we'd go on our date then. It's September 12 and he's not 'back.' A few days ago he sent me an email saying he'd gone to dinner and his bank card was declined- someone had managed to hack into his Bank of America account and steal a massive amount of cash. His story is the bank put a hold on his funds to protect the account and he asked if I could 'give him a shoulder to lean on' during this or deal and lend him some money until the hold was lifted. Just before this he had suggested we engage in phone sex, which I declined, as we have been talking on the phone and 'falling in love for the last month.' After this he sent me a screenshot of a very real looking online banking portfolio with over 2 million dollars in it. Supposedly it was from the last time he had logged onto his bank before the account was frozen- who makes random screenshots of a bank account when nothing is wrong? I told him that I really did not think someone with such a bright financial picture would want to be in a relationship with me since I have a lot of debt, he immediately offered to lessen the stress in my life by paying off my debt. I have not heard from him since I coyly told him that all I have to offer is my heart and that for the sake of our future (that he incessantly talked about) I really needed us to shelve any discussions of sex until we'd dated in Los Angeles for a good while, and any conversations about finances until after he'd been on bended knee offering me an engagement ring.
